3 Ways You Can Make Cheap Mobile Phone Calls, Today

Making calls with your cell phone can be expensive, but it doesn’t have to be. In fact, there are 3 ways you can make cheap mobile phone calls: using access numbers, using VoIp software and using calling cards. This article discusses the many services that allow you to do just that.

Why would anyone pay expensive call rates using their mobile phone, when they don’t have to?

Well, it might sound like a strange thing to do, but people do this every single day of the year. They make cell phone calls using their existing cell phone plan, and end up paying double, treble even ten times what they would have paid had they read this article first.

Yes, I’m going to share with you three ways to make cheap mobile phone calls, and several phone services that allow you to do that. And you start using them today.

And those 3 ways are:

1) Using Access Numbers
2) Installing Voip Software on Your Cell Phone, or by
3) Using Calling Cards

Let me elaborate.

1) Using Access Numbers

An access number is simply a number to dial first, before you then dial the number you want to call. Once you dial the access number – and these numbers vary, depending on which service you use – you then follow instructions that show you how to dial whoever it is you want to call.

You are charged by your existing cell phone company to call the access number (usually a local number). The next and main part of the call is charged by the new call company at their much cheaper rates.

This cost is much less than you would have paid if you had called direct, and in some cases, this cost is free – if you happen to have a mobile phone plan (as many do) which comes with free minutes.

Usually, with these services, there is no software to download, no prepayment is necessary, and no account to set up first. However, it’s always worth checking how the service works first.

Example Services

  • CallForFree is an Australian service, that allows you to make free international calls using the free minutes that come included in your mobile phone package. Just dial their access number, and away you go.
  • BestMobileSaver is a UK service that works in a similar way, simply by dialing an 0208 number first.
  • Pingo is a service that’s available for most countries. There are access numbers to dial, depending on which country you live in, or you can install their dialler application.

There are many other services, too. These are just a few good examples.

2) Installing Voip Software on Your Cell Phone

No further explanation is required, really. Just install the voip software on to your mobile phone (or cellphone). You then make calls via the software, at a rate that is much cheaper than you’d otherwise pay. You do, of course, need to register an account with the voip service of your choice.

Calling other people who have the same VOiP software installed is usually free, and nowadays some mobile voip companies are also including Skype users in those free calls.

Example Services

  • Jumblo is voip software that provides cheap phone rates for international calls, and for certain countries you can call landline phones free.
  • SmartVoip currenly only works for Nokia phones, alas, but offers great rates to India in particular.
  • Tuitalk offers free calls from your mobile, but only if your phone is compatible with Windows Mobile handsets and you must be prepared to watch an advert.
  • Vopium is compatible with most handsets and gives free mobile calls to other Vopium users and cheap international calls to landlines and mobiles.

3) Using Calling Cards

Cheap calling cards (or international calling cards) are usually associated with making landline calls, it’s true, but you can also use them with your mobile phone.

Calling cards simply contain an access number and credit to use that access number. And these days calling cards can be virtual as well as real.

Example Services

  • Pingo allows you to create a virtual calling card online. Just add credit. You then get an access number that will work just as long as you stay in credit. Obviously, you can add futher credit by re-visiting the Pingo website.

So there you have it: 3 ways you can make cheaper calls from your mobile phone, today. Whether you live in Saudi Arabia or Sri Lanka, USA or UK, Africa or Australasia (or wherever) - you can make cheap cell phone calls.

All you have to do is remember that cheap mobile phone calls come from:

1) Using Access Numbers
2) Installing Voip Software on Your Cell Phone, or by
3) Using Calling Cards

Hope you enjoy saving money using your mobile phone or cellphone!
