FreeBuzzer rings the destination number, then rings your number to connect your call. You get free calls to other landline phones direct from your landline phone - no software to download and install, and no headset needed - you don’t even have to register.

FreeRinger

Free online calls to international numbers and mobile phone numbers in over 30 countries. FreeRinger is a browser-based VoIP service that let’s you do just that, however, recipients of your calls may pay the charge for a local phone call. There is no software to download.

Basically the FreeRinger system initiates a call to your destination number, you then get a short time to ask that person to call you back. A Talkster number is generated and given to your contact so that they can call you back at the cost of a local call. You remain on the phone the whole time (without hanging up) until they are connected to you again. The person you called will receive their local rate Talkster number by sms, or on their caller ID or you can tell them the number.

PhoneHog

PhoneHog will not suit everyone! You do get free international phone calls from PhoneHog, but you have to earn them by signing up for offers or buying products. Each offer or purchase gives you free minutes and you can use these minutes to dial from any phone to any phone in the world. The PhoneHog Membership Agreement states that only people living in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands can become members.

I would advise caution if signing up for this site. Maybe you should create a disposable email at yahoo, gmail or hotmail for example - one that you can delete or stop checking if you start receiving too many offers or unsolicited emails. I also didn’t like the pop up windows that appear when you navigate away from PhoneHog.
