Tpad is a phone network offering free and cheap call rates for landline, mobile and VoIP calls. Use Tpad at home on your computer as Voip telephony, call international numbers from your mobile phone at local calling rates using access numbers, or make free calls from your mobile when in a wifi area. Tpad works on a computer, an IP phone, and ATA adapter and a wifi enabled mobile phone.

If you create a free account at Tpad you get a free inbound phone number and can make cheap internet calls to landlines and mobiles, and free calls to other Tpad users. To do this you need to download the Tpad software to your computer – there are choices of software and within the different versions there is compatibility with Windows, Mac and Linux systems.

Voip software with great rates and many countries absolutely free to call. Simply download the software, buy credits and make cheap international calls. The SmartVoip rates to India are very cheap, and comparing other rates including calls from the UK to Australia, the rates are among the cheapest I’ve found.

As with all Voip software, it’s free to call other members, but SmartVoip are very competitive on their calling rates. At the time of writing the free countries include Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Portugal, parts of Russia, Slovak Republic, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, UK, and USA.

After dialing your number, you have to watch an advert, but your calls to over 40 countries are free. This includes dialling to landline and mobile phones. There is a mobile version compatible with Windows Mobile handsets and iPhones.

CallingAmerica is a Voip application that lets you make free online calls to America and Canada. It’s a little different to other VoIP applications in that there is no software to download, simply use their website to initiate calls to both landlines and mobiles. That’s free calls to landlines and mobiles in the US and Canada!

If you register at CallingAmerica you get unlimited free calls each for a duration of 15 minutes. If you don’t register you can still access unlimited free calls but they only last for 2 minutes.

Call India for as little as 0.005p per minute (0.007 US$) and Australia for 0.005p per minute (0.007 US$) and of course it’s free to call other ActionVoip users.

Simply download the VoIP software, add credit to your account and you have access to very cheap calling rates worldwide. As well as using as a standard Voip service from your PC, you can also initiate phone to phone calls via the website. Simply enter the number you are dialing from and the number you’re dialing too, and ActionVoip will call your phone then the destination number to connect you via landlines but at their cheap VoIP rates.

FreeRinger

Free online calls to international numbers and mobile phone numbers in over 30 countries. FreeRinger is a browser-based VoIP service that let’s you do just that, however, recipients of your calls may pay the charge for a local phone call. There is no software to download.

Basically the FreeRinger system initiates a call to your destination number, you then get a short time to ask that person to call you back. A Talkster number is generated and given to your contact so that they can call you back at the cost of a local call. You remain on the phone the whole time (without hanging up) until they are connected to you again. The person you called will receive their local rate Talkster number by sms, or on their caller ID or you can tell them the number.

VoipCheap

A VoIP application that you need to download to your computer and, providing you purchase credit, you can make free calls to landline phones in approximately 25 countries. You have to register to use VoipCheap, calls to other VoipCheap users are free. The software requires Windows although there is an option to register for a Mac version.

There is a maximum of 300 minutes per week of free calls. If you don’t use your allocated free calls for the week they can’t be carried over to the next week. If you exceed your allocated free call time then the calls will be charged at normal VoipCheap rates. Once you’ve used up your free call time or it’s expired, you need to purchase credits in order to get more free call time. Purchased credit does not expire.
