Friendcaller is a browser based system for making voip calls, which means there is no software to download, simply call directly from your browser page. The system is a Java applet which works on all platforms and you can call all countries. There is also a software download called FriendCaller 3 Pro for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

The fact that you can use FriendCaller from your browser means that you can use it anywhere on any computer so long as you have internet access, and you can call mobiles and landlines.

FriendCaller Rates

The FriendCaller rates are good but certainly not the cheapest. Rates can be viewed in either euros or US dollars, and this depends on which currency you choose when you add credit. EU residents will pay VAT at 19%, but rates are shown both with and without VAT applied.

There are no additional fees such as connection fees, and calls are rounded up to the next minute.

FriendCaller for the iPhone and iPod Touch

The FriendCaller application for the iPhone and iPod Touch lets you make free phone calls from both portables within a wifi area, and it also works over a 3G/UMTS connection, however 3G calls are only possible within a wifi area.

Charged calls can be as little as 2 cents per minute for overseas calls.

The system makes it easy for you to invite friends to join, the more friends the better as it’s free to call users on the same system, and if friends are offline you can still send a message that they will receive as an email.

To call other mobile phones or landline phones you need to add credit first.
