Cheap phone call providers...

DialaCode

Use This Service To Call: Internationally (400+ countries).

DialaCode is a service for making cheap international calls from the UK with your mobile phone. It works with T-Mobile, Orange and 3 mobile networks. The cost for making an international phone call starts at 3p a minute, and there are no other added charges. There are over 400 countries available to call including Spain, France, India and the USA.

You can use DialaCode whether you have a contract or pay-as-you-go. DialaCode take the cost of the call on their network directly from your mobile phone credit, which means that the system is easy to use, particularly if you are on a contract. It also means that there is no registration required in order to use the service.

There is no connection fee, subscription or minimum call charge and you are billed by the second (calls are not rounded up to the next minute).

DialaCode run special offers and the current offer is for calling Pakistan and Bangladesh at discounted rates.

How to use DialaCode to make cheap mobile calls

To use the service you need to dial the 6-digit code for the country you want to call. Go to the DialaCode website and select the country you’re calling. You will then be given the code for that country. There will be two different codes, one for calling a landline and another for calling a mobile phone. You are also shown the rates for that country – rates are more expensive for calling mobiles.

1. Dial the 6-digit number and press your green call button.

2. Dial your international telephone number – use the full code e.g. 00 etc. (Don’t press your call button again.)

For ease of use, store the full number (DialaCode 6-digit code and the international number) in your mobile. Even though you have to press the call button after the 6-digit number you can store that too by pressing the * key three times when you store the number (*** shows as p in your mobile). For example:

112233 p 0034931111111

The DialaCode website has very helpful instructions on how to store numbers using different handset models.

Follow on calls can be made by pressing the * button twice, then your new international phone number.

Orange network

If you have an Orange sim card that is more than two years old, you may have a problem connecting to the DialaCode system. This is a known problem and you need to call Orange to get your SIM card activated.

If you make lots of international calls from your mobile and you’re not with either T-Mobile, Orange or 3, it may be worth buying a pay-as-you-go SIM card from one of these networks in order to save money on your international calls.

Registration required? No there is no registration.

Connection fee? No, there is no connection fee.

Dial from a mobile? Yes, this service is only for mobile phones: T-Mobile, Orange and 3 networks.

I used my 3 Network to call Canada starting with 290029. Followed with 001905….......for Canada. I was told 10 minutes would be free. I made 3 separate calls to Canada all under 10 minutes. I was charged altogether £7.70. I feel I have been robbed. This is what I wrote to DIALACODE: I would be grateful if you could explain what happened and if possible refund this money back to my account balance.

According to Dialacode’s website you should indeed receive the first 10 minutes of calls to Canada free of charge, and it looks like you’ve dialed the correct numbers.

Dialacode have a customer service number which is +44 (0)203 171 1777. I would give them a call and ask them why you have been charged. Please let me know the outcome.

Dialacode just managed to compensate me in the form of a sim card pre-loaded with £5 under Orange. I shall give this network a test run to see if it performs according to Dialacode rules.
I am still in a quandary not knowing how I was charged £7.70 for a 10 minute call that was supposed to be free. I may have to pursue 3 Network for an explanation.

Thank you for a wonderful job you are doing for all of us in great difficulties. Neong
