Cheap phone call providers...

DialToSave

• Use This Service To Call: Internationally.

DialToSave is a UK service for international dialing – you have to be within the UK to use the service. Their phone rates are very cheap and you can call from either a landline phone or a mobile phone by using access numbers.

There are two ways to use the DialToSave service: The cheapest is to purchase credit first, and you can do this by sending a text to the specified number (if using a mobile) or topping up via PayPal. You then dial the access number provided for the country you’re calling followed by the international number your calling.

The second method is called InstantTalk. Dial the InstantTalk access number (which is always different to the prepaid access number even for the same country) and you will be billed in your usual telecom provider’s invoice.

Both these methods let you over-ride your existing telecom provider, such as BT or NTL, and access cheaper networks to connect your call. You pay your normal telecom provider for the cost to connect to DialToSave’s network.

Using DialToSave to call from a mobile

From a UK mobile phone you send a text saying “dts” to 80550. This credits your DialToSave account with £5 and is taken from your mobile phone account. You will pay the normal cost of sending a text message to subscribe to the service and top up.

On your first top up, as well as a confirmation message that your account is open, you will be sent a pin number.

If you dial from the same mobile phone that you topped up with you don’t need to use the pin number to make a call. However, you can also dial from any other phone, including a landline, using the same credit simply by dialing the pin number first.

So, you dial the 020 access number, your pin number (if required), then the international phone number you’re calling.

Cheap Conference Calls

DialToSave also offer cheap conference calls and there is no need to set up an account to use the service. Check our their website for the up-to-date rates and access numbers.

Comments on DialToSave

If you have a question or comment about DialToSave please post it below.

I used dialtosave to call a landline abroad, instead of charging me the 1.5p rate advertised, they charged me at the 13p mobile rate. They don’t have a service line, or indeed any phone number (they are a phone company - you work it out), you have to use an automated, and complicated web system to complain. When I put a complaint in they just stonewalled, I had to threaten them with the small claims court and solicitors costs to get my money back. I strongly suggest you have nothing to do with them.
