free phone2phone is a free call service available in the United States for making free long distance and free international phone calls. Make 5 minute calls to over 50 countries absolutely free of charge.

free phone2phone give local phone numbers on their website for US areas. When you dial the free phone2phone local access number you will be charged for a local call by your normal provider, but only for the short duration that it takes to connect your call to the free phone2phone network. After that the remainder of your call is free.

Once you have dialled the local access number you will hear one or two adverts – this is how free phone2phone is able to give you free phone calls. The adverts last for approximately 12 seconds, and afterwards you dial your destination number. You can call to other US numbers and to over 50 other countries (see the free phone2phone website for the up-to-date list of countries you can call).

There is no registration process to use this service because free phone2phone will never charge you, just look up the local phone number for your area and start making free phone calls.

If there is no local number for your area, you can use any of the free phone2phone local access numbers to make a cheap international calls rather than free calls - you can call internationally for the price of a local call.

If there is no local number for your area it’s most likely that you won’t make a saving on long distance calls but you can check what you are already paying with your existing provider to make sure.

When your call has reached a length of five minutes you will hear a series of short beeps. Following this warning you have 30 seconds to finish your call.

Making Free Mobile Calls

You can also make free calls from your mobile phone in the same way, but make sure you don’t press ‘send’ otherwise you will be charged by your normal mobile carrier for the cost of the call, just wait for the call to connect.

Remember that the service is only for US phones, so don’t call from a mobile phone that’s from overseas even if you’re in the US, as you will incur roaming charges.

Calling to other cellular numbers

There are currently seven countries, including the USA, where you can call mobile phone numbers. At the time of writing these countries are: United States, Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Singapore and Thailand.

What if your call is longer than 10min?  Is the call cut off?  Is there a fee charged?

You can only make calls for 5 minutes. 30 seconds before the 5 minutes end, you hear some beeps before the call is disconnected.
