Make completely free calls to the USA and Canada! iCall offers various option on how to do this, there is a web based system that gives free 3 minute calls to the US and Canada, a voip application to download to your PC and iCall is also available for the iPhone and iPod Touch with a subscription package that comes with unlimited US and Canadian calls or competitive pay-as-you-go rates.

Three Ways of using iCall

iCall for the Web is a voip application that runs on your desktop and lets you make free three minute calls to anywhere in the US and Canada. Open an account with iCall in order to use it. Your call is disconnected after three minutes but you can simply call again, there is no limit to the number of calls you can make.

iCall for your computer iCall for the Web is a voip application you need to download to your computer that lets you make free three minute calls to anywhere in the US and Canada. Requires Windows 2000, XP, or Vista (if you have a Mac use the web bases option).

It comes with all the usual voip features and a little more. You can receive inbound numbers from any of iCall’s access numbers, you have free voicemail and voicemail to email. You can call over 50 countries for the cost of 6c per minute, with calls to many other countries at varying cheap voip rates.

iCall for the iPhone and iPod Touch. This great application lets you make calls and receive calls at a very low cost or for free using your iPhone or iPod Touch. With iCall you can make free or low cost phone calls when you are in a wi-fi zone.

You can call anywhere in the world from the US at very competitive rates, and if you subscribe to the iCall Total Access calling plan you get unlimited free US and Canadian calls included. If you pay-as-you-go these calls cost 2.1¢ per minute.

For international calls (all destinations outside of the US) there is one standard tariff for most countries, and that is currently 6c per minute and sometimes even less.

If you travel abroad frequently, iCall is a great option as there are no roaming charges if you’re in a wi-fi area and your calls are always the same rate.

You can also switch easily between iPhone cellular calls and iCall calls helping to save money as much as possible. This means you can receive calls to your celluar iPhone but quickly switch them over to iCall saving you money and cell minutes.

The iCall application for the iPhone and iPod Touch needs to be downloaded from iTunes, and there is a direct link to the app from the iCall website. With the iPod Touch you need a headset with a microphone which isn’t standard with all models when you purchase the iPod Touch.

iCall for the iPhone is fully functional over 3G networks (since January 2010).

Total Access Package

The Total Access package costs $9.95 per month and for that you get unlimited call length, unlimited calls to the USA and Canada, enhanced audio quality, a personal phone number, customizable voicemail, call forwarding, advert free calls and free directory help.

The iCall website comes with a good FAQ page, knowledgebase and support forum where you should discover the answers to any queries you might have about their service.
