PhoneHog will not suit everyone! You do get free international phone calls from PhoneHog, but you have to earn them by signing up for offers or buying products. Each offer or purchase gives you free minutes and you can use these minutes to dial from any phone to any phone in the world. The PhoneHog Membership Agreement states that only people living in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands can become members.
I would advise caution if signing up for this site. Maybe you should create a disposable email at yahoo, gmail or hotmail for example - one that you can delete or stop checking if you start receiving too many offers or unsolicited emails. I also didn’t like the pop up windows that appear when you navigate away from PhoneHog.
How Does PhoneHog Work?
When you sign up with PhoneHog you get a ‘calling card’, and you are able to add free minutes to your calling card by signing up for offers or purchasing items from retail outlets in the PhoneHog shopping mall. By becoming a member of PhoneHog you give them the right to send you offers by email, so if you’re someone that doesn’t like receiving sales emails then maybe this service isn’t for you. However, you very rarely get anything for free, and by signing up for email newsletters, offers or products that you may already need or be interested in, you will receive free phone minutes.
There are some famous retail brands who have signed up with PhoneHog and who are included in their online mall, such as, Gap, Barnes and Noble and Toys ‘R Us.
Apparently there are 3 million PhoneHog members all accruing free minutes, but it’s not so easy to gain much information about the service before signing up and I would have preferred to learn a bit more before doing that.
It’s not a VoIP service, you can use your minutes from any phone at any time and no credit card is required.

• Dial from a mobile? Yes, you can use this service when dialling from a mobile.
