StanaCard refer to their system as a calling card, but it’s not a card, in fact what happens is that you are given a ‘SmartDial’ number for every telephone number you want to call. You can assign a SmartDial number to a national, international or mobile number. You then simply dial the SmartDial number directly from your landline, mobile or office phone to access the StanaCard cheap phone rates. This service is available in the following countries: Austria, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, USA – and you can dial to many more countries (virtually worldwide).

Every telephone number you want to call on a regular basis can be assigned a SmartDial number. You can then store these SmartDial numbers in your phone to dial at the touch of a button. This means you can make cheap mobile phone calls wherever you are. Call rates are the same no matter what time of the day you place your call.

The SmartDial number is essentially a local number in your area; it connects you to the StanaCard telecom network. When you call a SmartDial number, the StanaCard system simply forwards the calls on to the assigned number and you access their cheaper rates.

Rates for calling from the USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Ireland and Russia are all the same, so it’s very easy to know what your expenditure will be. Calls are rounded up to one minute and there are no monthly or annual admin fees.

You must add credit to your account using a credit card before making any calls, and all your calls are logged, so you can see exactly how many calls you’ve made and the cost, as well as your remaining balance.

When you open an account (which is free to do so) you need to register the phones you will be calling from.

The minimum amount of credit that you can purchase is $5. However, if you purchase from $20 and upwards, you start to earn free bonus minutes. For example, if you buy $25 of call credit, you receive an extra 82 minutes free on top of the 543 minutes that you have paid for – this is an extra 15% for free.

You cannot use the StanaCard system if you have caller ID blocked on your phone. But you can get round this by dialing *82 before your SmartDial number, or if saving this number in your phone, save it with *82 in front also.

Making Cheap Mobile Calls with StanaCard

You can StanaCard on a mobile phone in exactly the same way as a landline phone, you just need to register your mobile/cell phone first. When you make a call from your mobile, you will be charged the cost of a local call by your cellular provider, this part of the call connects you to the StanaCard network. From that point on, you will be using the StanaCard network and therefore their cheap rates for the remainder of your call.

StanaCard’s rates are exactly the same whether you dial from a home landline phone, a mobile/cell phone or an office phone. Many companies charge more for calling from a mobile, so this is a very good deal.

Using Access Numbers

If you prefer the old fashioned method of using access numbers before dialing your telephone number, you have the option to do this too. StanaCard have over 400 access numbers in the US, Canada and the UK and you can find a list of them on their website.

So far, I am happy with Stana Card! The connection is clear and cheaper. Also I really like the fact that you don’t have to worry to buy card, to call a certain number, then put pin number, then put the number you are calling… it is a huge relief. From all these processes to just… dial your local number and BOOM u r connected.
