If you live in the UK you can make big savings on your phone bill by using Telediscount. What’s more, their service is very easy to use – there is no registration, no need for a credit card, simply dial their access numbers and you will be billed via your BT invoice. Find some of the cheapest international calling rates with Telediscount.
Many over-ride access providers need you to register online in order to initiate their service, not so with Telediscount. Make cheap international phone calls simply by dialling an access number for the country you want to call. You can use this service on landlines, mobiles and payphones and the service works with BT, Telewest and NTL.
Many calls to overseas landline numbers are 1p per minute, including Australia, Canada, China, Spain and the US. You can also call mobile phones at cheap rates too.
How to access cheap international calls?
Simply look up the access number for the country you want to dial on the Telediscount website. Dial that number and you will hear a message telling you how much per minute the call will cost, then dial your international number and you will be connected. Their website also lists clearly all the calling rates.
Some of the access numbers start with 0845 or 0870. These numbers have differing prices to dial because of their peak and off-peak rates, so you need to check with your call provider (such as BT) to find out what these charges are.
The Telediscount website can be viewed in English, German, Italian and Arabic.
Cheapest international phone calls possible
Sometimes the access numbers change, but this is because Telediscount are always trying to obtain the cheapest prices and in order to do that sometimes the networks and therefore the access numbers used will change.
Cheap mobile phone calls
You can use the access numbers when dialing from a mobile phone, but you need to take care here and check first with your mobile phone provider to clarify what they will charge you for dialling these numbers.
If you have a pre-paid mobile phone you can use Telediscount too. First you need to send a text message of “DISCOUNT ON” to 81223 and you will receive a credit of £5 with Telediscount. You must have at least £5 credit already on your mobile phone for this to work. Then you dial the pre-paid access number of: 0208 18 09 393 and you’ll hear a message telling you the cost of your call per minute. When you run out of credit it is automatically topped-up with £5, however you can stop the service at any time by texting “DISCOUNT OFF”.
